Selected Works

This page is a curated sample of the work I created at the Blue Cross Blue Shield Association as a Visual Designer on the Storytelling & Design team.

Health of America Forum Email Redesign

The Health of America Forum was a conference put on every year. Historically speaking, designers hadn’t been involved in the design of the emails used to market the events.

I created a more up-to-date email design, taking an unoptimized email format and making it both mobile-friendly and more interesting.

Conference Landing Page Concept

This was an ongoing project I’d been working on with our conference team to reimagine the way that we present the big-ticket conferences throughout the year. I was working to design a sub-domain that would give conferences greater credibility and, ideally, a better experience that would translate into improved attendance.

A new take on that same landing page – built into a responsive owned domain where we have full control.

BLUE365 MARKETING SUPPORT

Blue365 is a member discount program on everyday things folks might use to stay healthy. Think Groupon, but with a health and well-being twist. It’s free to BCBS members with participating plans.

I created all of the marketing and communication design for the program. This included display ads, static social media imagery, multimedia ads, flyers, and email banners.

Above are examples of some motion ads made for Blue365. I typically built these in modular ways to speed up turnaround times on deals. They tend to use similar type treatments, but switch between lifestyle imagery and products, like the FitBit ad above.

BLUE365 WELCOME MAILER & DIGITAL PDF

A key issue for the Blue365 Program is simply member awareness. Folks don’t realize they have access to all sorts of savings, so we designed both a print and digital welcome piece that can be mailed to older, less tech savvy members, or sent via PDF to digitally-inclined members. We also made a photography based version for plans who prefer that approach.

BLUE365 Work-From-Home Deals

Many of the most popular deals that Blue365 offers were fitness deals relating to gym memberships. When the world was initially confined to their homes, we decided to make an interactive catalogue that would help introduce Blue365 members to things they could be saving on that were perfect for being stuck in the house during lockdowns!

COVID-19 BRAND ILLUSTRATIONS

This is a recent project I’ve given myself. As we continue to release communications around the rollout of the COVID Vaccines, I saw a need for us to have some general brand illustrations to diversify from always using photos of people wearing masks or at a clinic. These are ongoing. Also, the vials were designed by a different designer, edited by me.

COVID-19 COST INFOGRAPHIC & WIREFRAME

I was asked to develop an infographic to highlight data that illustrated the impact of high-risk conditions on folks who ended up getting COVID-19. I collaborated closely with a brand journalist to frame the data into something meaningful – to be hosted on our webpages and sent to plans.
